1/6/01 ! I went to the backwater last night and the water was right on
schedule!!!!!! It was tough last night but I got 2 gallons by trolling for them
but they were NOT running. Some sorry mothertrucker stole my boat trailer while
I was gone shrimping right at the riverbreeze ramp!!!!!It was a piece of shirt
trailer but the ONLY one I had!! Lucky (edited by Jethro)
1/07 went to Blackpoint but the water is so low the trout were few. Did see
redfish, but didn't feel like wading and the ones near shore were always on the
OTHER shoreline. Who let the birdwatchers out? Could have limited out on them.
Only one bait shop had shrimp and they were dinky. If that tells you anything.

1/9 Saw a few boats under the Titusville bridge running generators and deep
lights snatching shrimp left to right. Could not sink my starfire deep enough
but was able to get 1 for every 20 of theirs. Got disgusted and left @ 930 It
looked like the light was driving them up, go figure. 50s with light NW wind.

shrimp evading capture. Dave

2/1/01, The Insane Shrimp Possefrom Orange City was humiliated by the shrimp at
Oak Hill last night to thetune of 30 shrimp. We only had one dip net because we
had to use Clammys netpole as an antenna so we could watch Survivor. We decided
to play some Survivorof our own when I bet Clammy two Moon Pies that he could
not eat a live shrimp.I thought everyone on earth knew that when eating a live
shrimp, you put it inyour mouth tail first and it will shoot itself down your
throat backwards.Clammy tried to eat this jumbo shrimp headfirst and it speared
him in thetonsil and got stuck. Clammy managed to throw up everything without
dislodgingthe shrimp. What made this extra ugly was the fact that Clammy had
just eatenan entire bag of fried gizzards from the Geneva Hooters (Handy Way)
and theycreated a lumpy oil slick in the river that extended about a mile behind
theboat. I finally had to reach in Clammys mouth with a pair of pliers to
removethe shrimp. I want to get the shrimp mounted and am looking for a
taxidermistwho will stuff it along with the two Moon Pies to hang on the wall in
mytrailer. The Shrimp Slayer

2/13/01, The Insane Shrimp Posse from Orange Cityrounded up 1.5 Gallons of
shrimp at Oak Hill last night. The shrimp wererunning deep so we just held our
hoop nets about 5 feet under water and everytime we checked them we had between
3 and 6 shrimp. We also had a box net thatdid pretty good, but we have not
perfected adjusting its depth. Around 11:30 aWildlife Officer stopped to check
us and said we could only have one shrimp netper person and was going to give us
a ticket, Before he could even startwriting the ticket Clammy had reached into
the bottom drawer of his tackle boxand pulled out Polly Urethane his blow up
girlfriend and started to inflateher. The cop was stunned and decided not to
write us a ticket. I quit aroundMidnight. Clammy and Polly decided to stay out

03/08/01, The Insane Shrimp Posse from Orange Cityopened up a can of whoop ass
on the shrimp at Haulover Canal to the tune of 2gallons of Super Maxi Jumbos. We
were handicapped more than normal last nightdue to the fact that Clammy was half
blind and The Shrimp Slayer had to tellhim when and where to dip. With hopes of
improving his shrimping Clammy went toa discount laser eye surgery place in a
Sanford strip mall and used a two forone coupon from the Penny Saver to get
laser surgery on Thursday morning. HisIndian doctor named Bob said he should
rest his eyes Thursday Night, But Clammyfigured if he christened his new
eyeballs shrimping he would become a supershrimper like me. Clammy paid the
extra $29.00 per eye for the Night VisionPackage, but personally I think it was
a scam and I thought I saw Dr. Bobworking at the Titusville 7-11 last month. The
Red Fish were also hitting inHaulover canal, but our fishing rods went flying
out of the boat when Clammywent over the railroad tracks at 80mph on our way to
shrimping. All in all it wasanother ISP success story, nobody hurt or arrested.

03/08/01 HC/ OH backwaters, 47 degrees and calm,Water temp was high 60s, 1

dipped some nice shrimp till 1030. I hadanother friend Vince come out in his
boat and he did about as good. While I wasout there I mentioned to Dave that I
haven't heard from "TheShimpslayer" in a while and talked about some
of his colorful stories, when I thought I heard him mention "Wow what a
red!" I believewe were in the same spot Clammy threw the net on the NASA
guy. Got to thebackwaters of Edgewater at 1230 for the tide change. Right off
the bat we weredipping small shrimp when the wind started from the west and it
got cold.Dipped till 230 and headed back to Riverbreeze. Didn't see anyone
dippingin edgewater, the wingnetters did not have their nets deployed and saw a
fewdipping around the RB area. Got home at 4 and snoozed. Jethro

70, 2 gal med to large, Was a dark and stormynight, I was sitting at my
shrimping station, when all of of sudden a jack nutin a white roballo appeared
and anchored 10 feet up current from me. It realyupset me so i yelled SHIMP,
SHIMP, SHIMP!.What to my my dismay they stayed allnight in my way. So my
brothers making a pizza, oh ya, back to the shimping. AsI discovered on the last
trip it does't hurt to use some chum , only this timeit went into the back of
the boat all over my beverage can collection, what amess. Got about 250 shrimp
50/50 dipping and box net. All in all a fun night,no blue lights or puke stained
clothes to explain to my wife, she likes it likethat. Be safe and dont anchor in
front of me or I'll throw a big bag of mysecret chum on you back. Cuzzydoo.
3/14/01, River Breeze, Mild, calm, 1 1/2 gallons,Shrimp were running deep,
unfortunately my friends frame net is not set upright to adjust for depth. I
will fix that before next trip. Shrimp would runpretty good for a while and then
quit then run again. Their hearts just weren'tin it. All in all not a bad
nite.Since I was by myself it was the equivalent of3 gallons with one buddy and
a limit with two, so no bitches. I just need a fewmore 5 gallon solo trips like
last Wednesday so I can get the freezer full.Brad B
3/15/01, Haulover, 70s sw, 240 jumbos, ran wellfrom 10pm to 2:30am. perfect

03/15/01, Riverbreeze, Mid 70's and variable, 11/2 gal, Once again Riverbreeze
provided a night to remember. It all startedwith another day of avoiding work,
as some of you know it is very hard to workwhen you have shimp on the brain. The
water was dirty and full of weeds. Lotsof other boats on the water, most looked
like they were dipping pretty steady.Shrimp ran early, around 7 PM. Stopped all
together by 11 . Most memorable partof the evening was watching the 160 foot
barge try to go thru the channel. Lotsof people seemed to think that if you
anchor in the middle of the channel firstthen you don't have to move. People get
a grip , and I don't mean on yourprivates. No chum used last night, maybe not
enough barley, hops spring water.Till next time, shimp on... Cuzzydoo
3/16/01, Oak Hill, Westwind, 5 knots, About 1 1/2 gals,Wind blew hard before
sundown. Tide was at 7 and shrimp started fairly good buttapered off. Water was
dirty and shrimp were running deep until chased to thesurface by small trout. We
quit at 10 and it's possible there was another runafter we left. Many jellyfish
in certain areas. Rudy Enders
3/16/01, HC, 70s, W to NW, 6 dozen jumbos, waterwas messy but the shrimp came
slow and steady with little current. Lots oftrout to push the shrimp to the

3/17 went to River Breeze. Went to backwater andgot about 1/2gal. Only highlight
was a small manta ray hauling ass around theboat catching micro-crap. Robert
3/17 Saturday, Riverbreeze, too cold for thechicks, 50 - 70 shrimp, We decided
to do something crazy, and talked the wifesinto going with so that we could use
the extra nets. We coaxed them with redwine and cheese. But when we got out
there we unveiled the Natural Lights and Funyuns.Started out dipping right away,
the women too, always remeber to bring tenjackets when you bring the chicks.
They were freezing! Since we didn't bringthe red wine, they gave us some whine
in return. We were forced to leave by 11,because of the ain't gonna get none,
and I don't mean shrimp. Blew a tire andwas saved by the Geneva Handy Way. Thank
God for light, and a quick changing ofthe tire so we could get the chicks home
without anymore whine. Have fun andstay out of the way of the barge. That horn
scares me. Cuzzydoo and his newcrew

shared in the bounty. Ted
03/22/01, Haulover, Freezing, Half Gallon, Got onthe water about 5, Current went
slack about 9. The few shrimp that were willingto grace us with their presence
had to be divided up amongst 8 billion boats. Everybodyand their brother was
shrimping tonight. The trout were'nt biting anything asfar as I could see. I had
the same fingerling on my hook from dark till we leftat 0030. My better half
used bait shrimp with no luck. At least there 'twerntno damn generators near the

quiet with the tournament being on sat. Boy was I wrong! Had to park in the very
back of the park because there were so many boats on the water. Got lucky and
found a covy whole and popped the old lady's cherry on shrimping. Have you ever
had the butt end of an aluminum pole stuck in your eye socket by an excited
female swinging around to show you her first shrimp? Real kodak moment! remember
to tape those bugers up! other than the bad start, the night was great weather
wise. Shrimp ran deep and the grass rolled in around 3 a.m. which sent me
packing. barron

shrimp thanx to the framenet. Nice night to be out but the idiots next to us
with the noisey generator with the mom with the mouth of a marine made it rough
on the wife to stand f this f that. Then when we got to the ramp there were a
few flat trailer tires due to roofing nails dumped at the ramp and caused a
backup and wait to trailer out. Friday the 13th was what it was. Jethro

- 2 1/2 gallons, 4/26 (Friday night) any boob could have limited out -even with
a blue net. The run was pretty much the best I have ever seen. Took a little
less than an hour to limit. Any time looking in the water you could see 20 or 30
shrimp. And left then running like that. 4/27 Saturday) was just a little more
work. Lowe
04/27/01 04/28/01, riverbreze, 70's NE, limit limit limit, Started shimping
around dark both nights. Shimp went off on Friday for every one we netted two
went by, but we had nothing to complain about. By far the most productive
outing's this year. I alomost feel that the investment in all the gear was worth
it. Will need a few more nights like the past few to convince my friends and
family , maybe if I fill their fridge they will stop calling me the shimpless
wonder. It may take a little more than a few shimp to rid myself of all the other
things they call me. As always shimp on and enjoy the shimp of your labor...

10/30/01, Oak Hill area, windy out of the East, just under 3
gallons bairly, Just shy of 3 gallons by myself. Mostly mediums with several
large mixed in. Very few smalls.
Outgoing started around 1am and I was anchored around 6 other boats. Nobody was
dipping so I moved away from them several hundred yards. As soon as I lowered my
lights I started seeing shrimp pour though. They were extremly deep so it was
necessary to have my starfires weighted and down the full length of the cord. I
was the only boat dipping still and sure enough it didnt take long for 2 of the
boats to move over to where I was. One boat was no more than 20ft from me
although he was very nice about it and asked me first. He immediatly started
dipping shrimp. The other of the two boats had PVC mounted lights and was unable
to see any shrimp due to the deep depth they were running.
The first few hours I dipped shrimp as fast as I could. As many as 5 at a time.
They were coming through in pods of anywhere from 2-6 in close proximity to each
other. The only problem I had was that due to the extreme depth they were
running, I was only able to catch a few at a time. I ended up with just shy of 3
gallons in just 4 hours with the first two hours being the best. They eventually
became too hard to see due to an increasing easterly wind and chop on the water.
I sure wish I would have had a box net. It wouldnt have been any problem to
catch a limit in the first 2 hours.
After talking with some of the other shrimpers, I found that they had anywhere
from 1-3 dozen shrimp with the exception of the boat that was right next to me.
He caught about 3/4 gallon. I think the reason I was doing so well was because
the shrimp were able to swim right under my canoe due to its shallow draft. They
ran away from my boat all night running from the west (my back) and curving to
the north/northeast. The deeper draft boats probably just made them dive deeper
or even spooked them. Znarf

11/11, Haulover Canal, cool 57 degrees with variable light winds, 0 shrimp, saw
2 mullet and heard the black drum grunting but wouldn't bite the puny shrimp I
got at the bait shop on hw 1 in Titusville near Garden Street. Will never go to
that shop again since they were pulling all the big shrimp out and tossing them
in the tub called hand picks. That hand picking should be done before I purchase
shrimp and not remove them in front of me! He will not get my business ever
again. Anyway around 1030 left for Riverbreeze for the outgoing tide but after
the report I received before I left I flipped a coin twice and was tails so I
decided to head home. Other than that, was a nice night on the water but so
little action after being at Sebastian Inlet fishing this weekend. Jethro
11/12/01, Went to Riverbreeze last night, Shrimped from 9:30 to 11:30, near the spoil Islands about 1/4 mile South of the ramp, then gave up due to heavy rain. Only 1 shrimp! The tide had not yet turned when we left at 11:30, but it was just about slack. Paul

12/6 Went to Oak Hill (marker 9a) last night (Thurs) from 1830
to 2230 hrs got almost 2 gals of nice shrimp mostly large, they were running
steady but on the slow side but it stayed interesting - I was the only boat
there, and when a porpoise came flying thur the lights with water all over the
boat I thought I had been had. Had to chang my pants. Had a pretty good current,
and water was clean and clear for the most part. Wind was NE changing to SE ,
all in all a very good evening on the water. Dick O'Leary
12/7, The Insane Shrimp Posse from Orange City were fisted by the
shrimp last night at Oak Hill and almost killed by NASA Special Forces when we
strayed South of Haulover Canal. At the recommendation of Clammy’s almost wife
Clamette we tried using black lights to illuminate the shrimp. We rigged up 10
black light bulbs to the generator and it made everything in and around the boat
glow like an 80’s Disco. The inside of Clammys skiff is white also so we were
blinded by the glowing boat.
Clammy was fishing for trout and ended up getting hooked in the head with a gold
spoon. It was bleeding real badly so we wrapped a towel around his head to stop
the bleeding. After finding no shrimp at Oak Hill we headed south to Haulover
Canal, but because we were blinded by the black lights Clammy missed the turn
and strayed into the NASA security area. Next thing we know there is a Blackhawk
Helicopter hovering beside us with a 50 cal machine gun pointed at us. We were
finally able to explain to them that Clammy was not wearing a turban and why the
boat was glowing. After an exhaustive cavity search they let us go. We didn’t
get any shrimp, but nobody got hurt or arrested. Another Insane Shrimp Posse
success story.

12/20/01, RB, Nw 5-7, 12 Doz, went to RB, near lopez. The tide appears to have changed a little early. Wind was NW around 5-7, and it was a little brisk. The shrimp ran slow but showed up. They also ran real deep. About half a hour before the tide changed they turned on good for a while, we were the only boat left. Shrimp ran large to jumbo no small. Finished up with about 12 doz. 12/22/01 7:30 to 10:30, Riverbreeze, Cilly and breezy, 3 gl,
Went to Riverbreeze around 7:30 and dipped almost 3 gl by 10:30. We decided that
we might have our limit with the shimp in the frame net. I started to bring it
in and it was heavy with shrimp.Very exciting to feel the weight. I got the net
about 2ft from the boat and that little plastic thingy gave way from the weight.
Wow that net got light fast. Lesson learned (tie knot in back of net) All in all
a great evening. Don

12-22=01, 7-11p.m. Oak hill, Lopez, wind E @63 deg.1 1/2 gallons, dropped in at Lopez went over to the break of the channel by marker bouy.seemed like the shrimp were coming from the shallows.did o.k. through the night but the water was cloudy and the shrimp were going deep quick.plus a few windy intervals of gusts came through and picked the water up and that sure didn't help visibility but all in all had a good night and no down time. 12/23 8pm, RiverBreeze, Wind E@10-15, 68 Deg, M Cloudy, 1 gallon, It started
with a girl pulling out in front of me on 44 just W of Deland. Capt Chris, Lil
Gary, and Dennis the Menace jumped the ditch Duke boys style with Capt Chris'
Suburban 4X4 pulling his 23 1/2 ft Cobia. Female drove away without even
stopping to see if anyone was hurt. Amazingly, there was no damage to persons,
boat, trailer, or truck (dont know how, but I not complaining). Got to RB, Wind
stiff from the east. The few shrimp that were running were running really deep.
Did not see any shrimp on the surface. Then we saw people swimming in the
intercoastal and started laughing. They were up close to the boat in front of us
(1-200 yards) and hanging on to something. A cooler suddenly floated by us, so I
got the video camera out. When I zoomed in, the were not in the water
voluntarily, they had sunk their boat and the only thing visible was the bow.
The boat in front of us was trying to assist, but they only had a smaller bass
boat and was not able to pull the sunken vessel. So with the luck I was having
that evening the current pulled them down right into my anchor lines. One of the
shipwrecked crewman "capt Larry" swam to my boat. After cutting my anchor line,
we used my boat to pull them back to the ramp at river breeze, breaking the rope
numberous times and making plenty of people nervous and angry..all of this was
recorded on video :-) Meanwhile, Capt Larry left his passenger Keenan out in the
water with his vessel trying to keep the boat right side up, while Larry was in
my boat trying to stay warm. We got them back to the ramp and they were gone
when we left at 2am, so they must have gotten it out of the water, or it
completely sunk and now lives in the intercoastal waterway. Larry was nervous
about what he was going to tell his wife...he offered me a case of beer and gave
me a "god bless you" We should have gotten 2-2 1/2 gallons with the box net if
we had sat in the same place all night, however I am just happy I made it home
safely at this point. Did I mention Larry said this was only the second time he
had this boat out? Chris
12/26/01, Riverbreeze, wind 10-15 mph at 39 degrees, water 59, 3 gallons small, medium and some large, The tide started out about 11pm and the shrimp were running deep. Had to move one time since some idiot had to park right upstream from us because they saw us dipping. The river was empty and wide open. (inconsiderate move on their part) If you see the channel is without boats don't park right in front of another boat! There is the whole river. Give yourself and others that consideration. This will make for a good trip and no negative confrontations. It was so cold my guests wanted to leave and so we left the shrimp running at 130am. I know we could have limited out if we stayed another hour but thats the way it goes. Jethro

Good luck this weekend, Im shrimped out for a while. Note: My competitor has claimed he had his reports site since 1996, where are those reports? Hmmm is there honesty there? I can only find reports on his site since he officially opened in 2000. Why would he need to post the reports from my site without my permission? now I know why he emailed and IMed me for all that information on shrimping. Now he's an expert. Jethro

12/29/2001,Tide ran well but the shrimp did not. Everybody else was doing about
the same outside Le Fils. Left at 3 am. south of riverbreeze, calm, dry, about
50degrees, Four gallons, We launched at 2:30 a.m. The tide was already running
out. The weather radar had just cleared and the wind was very light. We dipped
several dozen big shrimp the first hour or so. Then steadily dipped mediums
until about 5:30. Our box net must not have been deep enough as we only got 2
dozen in it. We ended up with 4 gallons of decent sized shrimp.Pretty nice
trip, except for having to fuss at someone for rudely parking right in front of
us..Love your site! Alan n Meg Nalagem
12/29 Riverbreeze,I didn't shrimp but was heading out to fish and witnessed two boats
come in both with 5 gallons that were caught from 3am till 6. They were large to
jumbo shrimp! Jethro
12/29-30 We got 1.5 gals shrimping from 11:45
till 4:30. I built a frame net and it worked
pretty well. They where running real, real deep, the water was gin clear for
the first half of the tide, and the moon was very bright which I think pushed
them down. They where about 20% large, 40% med, and 40% small. There where alot
of boats out there. Really pretty night. They came in bunches every 2-4 minutes
minutes for the first 2 hours and then pretty much dried up from 1:30 till
4:30. I shrimped pretty much in the same place we did the 2 nights before (1
mile south of RB). JohnB
29-30/01, South of Riverbreeze, 4.95765 gallons, Ran preety
well. Dipped most. Went to the mater getting hole and they were burping up
pretty well. Though it was pretty funny when two boats parked in front of us and
didn't see mutch as we were steady dipping. Almost got some venison on the way
there, the way I don't like on the grill. Captain May Pop Daddy
12/30/01 marker 5, little chilly, 2.5 gals. Dipped most, only got a few in box net. I will be spending new years on the river, dipping. Good Luck All. Ginzo
